Happy Endings

Barney (renamed Bobby Dazzler) and quite rightly so!

This very handsome Springer Spaniel pup was rescued from drug addicts and brought to us for rehoming. Credit where it is due though, somebody had taken the time and trouble to train him and his obedience and manners put many an experienced dog to shame.
It was not long before this highly intelligent lad went to a working home where he is now enjoying growing up in 70 acres of wood and farm land.

 Mick

Mick a Border Terrier X finally made it to his new home.  Having been successfully home checked, his adopter had a car accident and broke her leg.  After a short spell in hospital she was recovered enough to take Mick home, where is has settled in very well indeed.

Buster and Fran

Fran in front and Buster following are two wonderful Border Collies.  They came to us from separate homes but bonded straight away.  Although it took us some time to home them together we are very pleased to say that they have now gone to a lovely family, who have a smallholding.

 Mitzi and Tuppence

Tuppence and Mitzi, two miniature Yorkies have found a very loving home.  We were asked to help find a home for them as their owner very sadly had to go into a hospice.

Rolf and Jessie

Rolf and Jessie have found a lovely home together, as they were the best of friends we did not want to split them up.

Bracken, Bisto, Bess and Ben – Westie x pups.

These delightful bundles of mischief have all been re-homed to various parts of the country.  Two of the boys were lucky enough to be re-homed within in a few hundred yards of each other.

Sam

Sam, a very handsome Border Collie has found his forever home with another lovely Border Collie lady friend.  Sam came with a good supply of teddies and other soft toys which he took with him to share.

Fly

Fly, came to us via our Vets. She had a broken leg and the owners would not pay for her treatment, opting to have her put to sleep instead. The Vets contacted us and we agreed to take her on. Our brilliant fosterers Sandi and Paul did an amazing job in bringing Fly out of her shell. She was a very timid little girl but soon found her feet! She has gone to live with another Border Collie called Bob and her new owners travelled all the way from Essex, in awful weather, to come and see her.

Tink

Tink, a West Highland Terrier, was another dog that came to us via the vets. Tink must be the easiest dog in the world. She stayed for a short while with Dawn on her smallholding before going to her new home. She delighted in being with the other dogs and cats, the only draw back being her little legs could not avoid the mud in the fields, so a bath was in order before going to her new home where she is making her new mum one very happy lady.

Jed our deaf Boxer x Pointer has really fallen on his feet.  His new owner, Georgina , keeps us updated and this is his latest exploit:-

Subject: I know Jed loves me

because he brought me a plant today!

Unfortunately it was in a pot too big for him to get through the dog flap, so he left the pot just outside - along with a big pile of compost which he had dug the roots out from then he came indoors, raced like a mad thing around the house - including all over the bed (sheets changed yesterday!) before bringing it up to me...  I don't think the plant has any chance of living now, let alone growing.

so after his loving gesture I had to

clear up the garden where compost had come out of the pot where it had been dragged, clear up the heap of compost just outside the back door, clear up the compost he had brought into the house on his feet - bear in mind it has been damp here, so great fun!!! - change the bed again (tooooooo dirty to just leave).

Mind you - I have just undercoated a new door and thankfully when I came indoors did not find the same as when I put the first coat on the other day - a chewed rollerball pen with ink EVERYWHERE..... I had a white black and blue dog, the rug has a lovely blue patch, and the (new) carpet on the windowseat - replaced after the foam cushion was demolished - also has a few blue spots!!!

Still wouldn't swap him though.

JED

Jed met his perfect match with Bruce and his 9 year old GSD Thai.
He goes to work with Bruce and is happy to stroll around the building site
or keep an eye on the van.

FOXY

Foxy was very timid and didn't know how to play. We were very concerned that she should find the right home with someone who could continue the work done by her fosterers. She has found a wonderful home with Ann and her 'family'. As you can see she has made friends with Shadow and gained so much confidence from him she is like a different dog.

FERN

Fern came to us because her owners had to move into rented accommodation and could not take her with them. She was taken in by a member of the family but was terrorising the cats. She was fostered by one of our trustees who fell in love with her and she never moved on.

OSCAR

Oscar was a stray puppy. He found a lovely home with a family in Kent, Ollie the labrador and an assortment of other pets. He is a typical boisterous puppy, has chewed his way through the house and even managed to turn the gas on in the kitchen.

KIM AND KES

Kim and Kes were found straying together and we thought they were mother and daughter. We wanted them to find a new home together so we had to wait several months before the right home came along. Kim and Kes have gone to live in Worcester with Peter and Hilda who can't now imagine life without them.

CATS AND KITTENS

We have had a very successful time in re-homing our cats and kittens.

Jinx and her brother Milton came to stay with us as their owner was working away from home and felt that it was not fair to keep putting them into a cattery.

Whilst Jinx always behaved like a lady, her brother whilst behaving like a gentleman, took the meaning  “gentleman of leisure” to its limits.  Sleeping and eating made Milton ’s day.  Jinx has gone to a lovely rural home where she is helping to keep the mouse population at bay and Milton has suddenly found out what legs were meant for.  He is now getting much more active and losing some of the considerable weight that he was carrying.

Twink came to us with one kitten who has since been called Pebbles,  she has gone to live with another cat that we re-homed to Mike and Helen and their two dogs..  Twink then had six more kittens, sadly one died but the other five found homes.

Ginger and his friend Puss went to live locally.  Ginger is Twink’s brother.
